Words from Willow Lane Photography…..
Be bold, be yourself and it will all fall into place perfectly!
I am so excited to share this styled wedding shoot. I love bright colors! If you ask anyone who knows me, hot pink is definitely my favorite color….ever. I really think it’s the best shade! Not sure if I am attracted to bright colors because my family comes from a Caribbean island (Puerto Rico) or if it’s because bright colors always look so happy to me, but needless to say, I love bright colors. So when the wonderfully talented Willow Lane Photography sent me this neon inspired wedding shoot, I had to share it.
Now handing over the blog to Willow Lane Photography so we can get some insight on what inspired these awesome vendors…..
When we all came together for this stylized shoot, we started chatting about colours, themes and where we wanted it to go. So much out there lately is soft, romantic and vintage. Although I LOVE those styles, I always like to remind brides to be true to themselves rather than to go with the trends. When the idea came up in our group everyone was instantly on board with styling a neon themed wedding shoot. We focused on using bright, youthful colours and patterns. Everything down to the Candy Nerds, pixie stix and sugar fruits filling the water glasses, to the custom plates, invitations and Duct Tape backdrop. We wanted to showcase how you can embrace colours and patters while still achieving a romantic and unique wedding.
Chatting with Julia from Once Upon Your Day, Janine from Fabloomosity & Tamara from BeautifulU Makeup Artistry, we all had so many wonderful ideas that we decided not to focus on one colour, but rather to embrace the full spectrum of colours and showcase how a multitude of colours and patterns can come together for a picture perfect day. Each of us brought something to the table that I can’t imagine the shoot without. It’s amazing to see so many minds come together to take one idea and grow it into something unimaginable! Keeping with styling our shoot outside the box we also wanted to choose a very atypical location, so we headed for the open air top of a downtown parkade, which provided a hugely versatile setting with a great variety of colours. (I couldn’t help but thinking the entire time we were up there, how amazing it would be to have a summer wedding reception up there, complete with a gorgeous sunset, it would be an ideal and unique reception location).
I couldn’t agree more! Thank you to Willow Lane Photography for these gorgeous photos and for getting our creativity juices flowing! Well done to all the vendors who worked on this amazing shoot.
